Description

No. 17 Sadler Street is a shop with a house above, dating back to approximately 1900, but incorporating earlier structural elements. The front facade is rendered, while the north gable is constructed of random rubble. The building has a clay pantiled gabled roof concealed behind a high parapet, and brick chimney stacks.

The exterior is three storeys high and three bays wide. The ground floor features a through passage in the first bay, with a three-centred arched doorway containing keystones. Bays 2 and 3 contain simple shop windows, and between them is a part-glazed entrance door set in a shallow recess, sheltered by a simple timber hood supported on brackets. The upper floors contain modern casement windows. A balcony with cast-iron brackets and balustrading is positioned at first-floor level over bays 2 and 3.

The interior of the building was not inspected during the listing process.
