Description
The building is a Wesleyan Chapel, now known as the Methodist Chapel, dated 1810. It is constructed from ashlar Doulting Limestone and features a pantile roof. The chapel is two storeys high with five bays arranged in a 1:3:1 pattern. It has semi-circular headed windows set in reveals with impost bands, featuring fixed light Gothicised glazing. The central entrance consists of a semi-circular headed doorway with double panelled doors and a fanlight above. A portico with a flat entablature is supported by plain pilasters on the wall and two Tuscan columns at the front. The central three bays have a false attic with three oblong recessed panels, topped by a triangular pediment. The bays on either side are adorned with ramped parapets. This building is a notable example of a Georgian Non-Conformist Chapel.
