Description
The Globe Inn is an inn built in the early to mid-19th century, featuring a gabled rear wing added in 1900 that connects to the earlier structure on the left. The building is rendered with false ashlar joints and is colourwashed. It has a clay pantiled upper roof between coped gables, while the lower roof is covered with double Roman clay tiles and has brick chimney stacks.
The exterior consists of three storeys across two bays, with an additional single bay that is two storeys high. It has a plinth and pilaster strips at each end. The ground floor includes a plain sash window in the first bay and a 4-pane sash window in the third bay, which has a segmental-arched head. The first floor features 16-pane sashes, with the window in bay three also having a segmental-arched head. The second floor has 12-pane sashes. The entrance is located in bay two, featuring a panelled door and a plain fanlight set in a semicircular arched recess with a wide plain architrave. There is a painted wood board between the first and second floor bays one and two, and at the second floor level, a projecting hanging sign is supported by an earlier 20th-century iron bracket.
The interior of the ground floor was remodeled in the late 20th century.
