Description
Rose Cottage is a cottage built around 1840, constructed from random rubble local stone with ashlar quoins and window surrounds. It features a slate roof with overhanging eaves, decorative bargeboards, decorative ridge tiles, and brick stacks at the gable ends. The building has a two-cell plan with a cross passage and is designed in a picturesque Tudor style. It stands two storeys tall with four bays, gabled tops on the outer bays, and 3 and 4-light casements that have astragal leading and hood moulds. There is a single-storey gabled porch with a Tudor arch head doorway and the original door. Rose Cottage is similar in style to Springfield House and was built by the Adairs as part of the former Heatherton Park estate.
