Description
Summerlands is a detached house built in the early 19th century, possibly incorporating earlier work. It is constructed of coursed ham stone rubble, with an ashlar projection on the east side. The roof is hipped and made of Welsh slate, with stone slate base courses, and there are yellow brick chimney stacks. The house has an 'L' plan and consists of three storeys on one side and two storeys on the other. The east elevation features three bays, two of which are part of the ashlar projection. The sash windows in plain openings are mostly 12-pane, although the glazing bars have been partly removed from the upper bays two and three. There is a door set in a deep architraved recess in the lower bay one. The north elevation has 16-pane sash windows on the upper floor, along with a 6-panel door in a plain opening on the ground floor. The west side includes a two-storey extension with an attic, featuring a coped west gable and 16-pane sash windows. The interior has not been seen.
