EAST REACH 1. 5365 (South Side) Taunton and Somerset Hospital (Main block on street) ST 2324 NW 12/21 ST 2324 NE 13/21

Founded 1809, 1st part of building completed 1812. Side wings 1870-3. Main front considerably altered. 4 storey brown brick centre block. Stringcourses. Hipped slate roofs with projecting eaves on wooden brackets. Centre block has 5 windows with centre bay coming forward. Large ashlar porch to upper ground floor with 2 flights of entrance steps with railings. Side pavilions are 3 storey with 3-light sash windows and pilaster treatment.
