Description
This barn, located about 25 metres north-west of The Priory, likely has origins dating back to the 15th century. It is constructed from Ham stone that is cut and squared, with some areas featuring near-ashlar stonework. The roof is thatched over stone slate base courses and has stepped coped gables topped with 20th-century obelisk finials. The barn has a T-plan layout, with a projecting porch situated just south of the centre on the east side. This porch features tall boarded doors beneath a timber lintel, along with a ventilation slit, a buttress, and a boarded doorway to the north. On the west side, there is a pair of doors opposite the porch, flanked by two slit ventilators and supported by five buttresses, which appear to be later additions. The south gable includes three ventilation slits, several holes for doves, and a blocked quatrefoil gable vent. The interior is not accessible. This barn is significant in relation to The Priory.
