Description
Haygrove Farmhouse, including the garden walls, is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 18th century, with a 19th-century extension. The building features painted roughcast walls and a plain tile roof with brick stacks at the gable ends. It has a three-unit plan with a central stair tower at the rear and a two-storey extension to the left. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a symmetrical five-window range.
The front garden facade displays 3/6-pane sash windows on the first floor and 6/6-pane sash windows on the ground floor. The door has quarter-circle panels at the top that are glazed, with four raised and fielded panels below; the overlight above the door has two panes, indicating it may have originally been part of an eight-panel door. The door hood is supported by fretted brackets and chamfered columns, likely from the 19th century. The set-back two-storey wing to the left features a two-light casement window with small panes at eaves level, along with a 20th-century lean-to that projects forward beyond the facade. The rear of the farmhouse has been remodelled and includes a 20th-century dormer, roof lights, and various two- and three-light casement windows.
The interior has not been inspected.
The garden is fronted by a low English-bond brick wall with Ham Hill stone coping, which connects to a rough-cast wall, likely from the 20th century, to the right of the house.
