Description

This is a 17th-century house that was later altered in the early 19th century and now serves as a post office. It is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with a triple-Roman tile roof and a brick ridge stack. The building is two stories high with five bays, featuring 16-pane sash windows set in ogee-moulded stone surrounds. Half of the ground-floor window on the left side has been blocked with ashlar stonework, incorporating a post office box. Weathered strings run above the window heads on both the ground floor and the first floor. A central door opening has a moulded wooden surround and a 6-panelled door with the two upper panels glazed. Above the door is a flat, moulded wooden hood supported by cut wooden brackets.
