Description
Manor Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that was restored and enlarged in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red sandstone random rubble with brick dressings on one crosswing, while the earlier block is rendered. The roof is slate, with the crosswing being higher and independently roofed, featuring gable ends. The house has a cross-shaped plan. It is two storeys with a 3-bay facade and a 2-bay return, with mostly mid-19th century 2 and 3-light casement windows, featuring marginal glazing bars and coloured glass in the corners. A small glazed opening is located at the end bay to the left, beside the fireplace. The central half-glazed door is original to the earlier block, while the crosswing has a mid-19th century double door, also half-glazed, with leading similar to the windows. The gable ends are unlit. The right return includes a first-floor 2-light casement and two ground floor 3-light windows, although the rear of the house has a late 20th-century window replacement.
