Description

The Brean War Memorial is a First World War memorial dating from around 1920. It is made of stone and has a rectangular shape.

Located between the lychgate and the Church of St Bridget, the memorial features a stone of remembrance. It includes a carved relief figure of a soldier dressed in First World War uniform, holding a flag in one hand and an olive branch in the other.

An inscription on the memorial reads, "IN MEMORY OF THE MEN/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 - 1918 (NAMES)/ MEN FROM BREAN/ ERECTED BY THE PARISHIONERS." The memorial is set upon a rectangular base made of rock-faced stone.
