Description
Okehills is a house from the early 19th century located in Cheddon Fitzpaine. It features roughcast over a rubble base with pilaster quoin strips that continue as a cornice. The roof is hipped and covered with asbestos slate, and the eaves overhang. There are brick stacks on the right side and at the rear of the building. The house has a double front and an L-shaped service wing at the back. It is two storeys tall with three bays, each fitted with 16-pane sash windows. The central entrance has a flat-roofed Doric porch with panelled double doors and a rectangular light above that includes marginal glazing bars. To the left is a flat-roofed single-storey bay that matches the main structure and also has a 16-pane sash window. On the right, there is a late 19th to early 20th century restored greenhouse. Okehills is similar in design to Marsh House in Kingston St Mary and is likely built by the same builder.
