Description
No. 30 Friarn Street is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is built of Flemish-bond brick and features a double Roman tile roof that is attached to the forward-facing gable of No. 32 on the left. The house has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a two-window range.
The dormers, which have flat roofs and lead cheeks, contain 20th-century square casement windows with nine small panes. On the first floor, there are 6/6-pane sash windows in forward frames; the left window has a flat gauged brick arch, while the right window has a timber lintel. On the ground floor, to the left, there is a flat gauged brick arch above an early 19th-century 8/8-pane sash window. To the right, a brick relieving arch is positioned over a 20th-century six-panel door and doorcase, which features a moulded cornice. The interior has not been inspected.
