Description
Old Hall and the attached outbuilding is a house and barn, now serving as an outbuilding, dating from the late 17th century with 20th-century alterations. The structure is built of coursed rubble and ashlar, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. It has two storeys and three bays, with the second bay of the house made of ashlar. The former barn is located to the right, with the left portion incorporated into the house.
The house features a round-headed 17th-century stud and board door to the right of the centre, flanked by plinths and pilasters, with an entablature above. There are 2-light mullion windows with side-sliding sashes that include glazing bars. Above the door, there is a square double-chamfered window. A continuous string-course runs at the first-floor level, with shaped kneelers and gable coping. There are corniced stacks at the centre and to the right. The additional bay to the right has a large 20th-century bay window on the ground floor and two 20th-century windows on the first floor, along with a corniced stack to the right.
Inside, a timber post is visible in the rear corner of the left room on the first floor, and some timber can also be seen in the first-floor rooms under the eaves, which may be remnants of a wall-plate.
