Description
Nos 35 and 37 High Street are 18th century buildings that stand three storeys tall, constructed of ashlar stone. They feature a top moulded cornice supported by moulded blocks. The ground floor has a modern shop window, while the upper floors have two windows each. The first-floor windows consist of three lights, with the middle light being wider. The innermost jamb of each first-floor window is designed as a pilaster that supports a moulded architrave, which spans the width of the two windows and features an applied arch that connects them. The archivolt of this arch mirrors the moulding pattern of the architraves. The windows on the top storey have plain reveals.
Nos 39 and 41 were rebuilt in the 20th century and are included for their group value. These buildings also rise three storeys and have three gables, with shop fronts on the ground floor. Each upper floor contains three three-light windows and one single light window, which are similar to but simpler than those of Nos 35 and 37, featuring stone mullions and sashes. There is a segmental arch leading to the rear yard on the right side, and the buildings have a slate roof.
