Description
The Garden Tower to the west of Abbey Lodge is a former tower of Bewerley Hall, now serving as a garden tower. It dates from the late 19th century and is constructed of ashlar with ashlar dressings. The structure is two stories high and features a moulded parapet. The round tower has a flat wall on the west side where it once adjoined the now-demolished Hall. The east front includes a two-light casement window in an ashlar surround with a Tudor hood mould, positioned above a false cross arrow split with a similar two-light casement above. To the north, there is a single doorway with a plank door, and to the south, each floor has a single lancet window with a Tudor hood mould. This tower is one of the few remaining fragments of Bewerley Hall, which was demolished in 1924.
