Description
Mill Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble, whitewashed, and has a pantile roof with rebuilt brick stacks. The house has a two-cell, end-passage plan, with the entrance situated in the lower range. The front of the house is 1 1/2 storeys high, with two windows, while the range to the left is 1 1/2 storeys high and has a single window. A 20th-century board door, protected by a timber lintel, is located to the left, with a 2-light, small-pane, horizontal sliding sash window above it. To the right is a 2-light, small-pane, horizontal sliding sash window, and a 20th-century 2-light, small-pane casement at the end of the right-hand range. Two similar windows are located on the first floor. Timber lintels and 20th-century louvred shutters are present on the ground floor windows. End stacks are visible.
