Description

This is a disused pump and canopy located in Bolton-on-Swale, dating from around 1900. The pump is made of oak and features a Westmorland slate roof. It measures approximately 250 millimeters square and stands 1 meter high. The oak casing is topped with a ball finial, and it has a wrought-iron handle. The lead spout discharges into a stone basin. The square canopy is supported by posts and has a dipped rail across the sides, also adorned with pendant ball finials. The roof is covered with lozenge slates and has lead-covered angles.
