Description
The building is a chapel that has been converted into a barn, located approximately 4 metres west of Huddleston Hall. It has origins dating back to the 15th century, with rebuilding in the 16th century and later alterations. Originally built for the Langton family, it was later rebuilt for the Hungate family. The structure is made of magnesian limestone and features a stone slate roof. The chapel is aligned on a north-south axis and has a segment-arched north doorway with a moulded surround. To the left, there are remains of a segmental-arched opening that is partly blocked and has an inserted 19th-century stable door. There is another similar blocked opening to the south. The west end has two 19th-century openings. The pointed east window consists of three lights with Perpendicular tracery in the heads. To the right, there are remains of steps leading to a plank door with a Tudor-arched lintel.
