Description
This barn, located approximately 30 metres north-east of Warren House, dates from the early to mid-18th century and was built for Francis Cholmeley. It is constructed of rubble sandstone with some dressed stone used for the openings and features a pantile roof. The barn has two storeys and four internal bays.
The front of the barn has a large segmental-arched doorway that is partly blocked with concrete blocks to create a stable door. There are also slit vents and a broken shaped kneeler with moulded coping to the left. At the rear, there is an enlarged almost-central opening with a timber lintel, along with three slit vents on each floor. To the right, there is a cyma reversa shaped kneeler and moulded coping.
On the left side, there are two blocked segmental-arched cart openings and slit vents arranged in three tiers of four, two, and one. The gable features herringbone tooling on the dressed stones. Inside, the barn has three roof trusses with curved queen struts. This building is included for its group value.
