Description
This is a bridge located approximately 120 metres south-west of Duck House, built in the late 18th century. It features gritstone arches and wrought-iron railings. The bridge has two shallow arches with rusticated voussoirs and round cutwaters that rise as pilasters to a projecting band at road level. The railings consist of bars and dog-bars, adorned with urns and scrolls at the finials. The terminals at the west end on each side still have their original scrolled finials. This bridge serves as the main drive from Studley Royal House to Ripon Low Lodge, which is part of the main vista between St Mary's Church and Ripon Cathedral.
