Description
Glebe Farmhouse is a farmhouse located on the north side of Foxholes Main Street in Butterwick. It dates from the early 18th century, with alterations and extensions made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features a cruck frame that is encased in whitewashed chalkstone on brick footings, topped with a pantile roof and brick stacks. It has one storey and an attic, with a three-window front. The original door, which was located to the right of the centre, is now blocked, and there is an inserted six-panel door at the centre left. All windows are top-opening lights, with large panes and painted stone sills on the ground floor, while the attic windows are flat dormers with small-paned lights. There are stacks at both ends and one in the centre right. Inside, three pairs of upper crucks with spurs remain visible, and square-section joists are exposed in the right end room, while other ceilings are underdrawn.
