Description
Nos 153 and 154 on Church Street are 18th-century buildings that stand three storeys tall and are constructed of painted brick with a pantile roof. They feature a moulded wooden eaves cornice and have four windows, with alternate ones blocked. The windows are framed in moulded wood, fitted with double-hung sashes that include glazing bars and are topped with stone arches. There are two late 19th-century shop fronts, with the one on the right consisting of two lights and a cornice supported by consoles and plain pilasters. To the left, there is a flat-arched passage entrance. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 119 to 123A, the Board Inn, and Nos 126 to 135, as well as Nos 137 to 151 and Nos 153 to 157.
