Description

This is a late 18th-century building, altered in the early 19th century and more recently. It is located on the north side of High Street in Stokesley. The building is constructed of local light red brick, with a stone plinth, horizontal bands, quoins, and moulded eaves. The right end has stone coping and a kneeler, while the left end has a truncated brick chimney. The roof has been renewed with concrete tiles. The facade is slightly bowed on either side of a modern panelled door with an oblong fanlight. The windows are replaced sash windows with glazing bars, with the central first-floor window blocked. An incised plaque is visible on the left-hand side, reading "Post Office." On the right return, there is an early 19th-century reeded doorcase with paterae at the angles.
