Description

This boundary stone, dating from the mid to late 18th century, is made of gritstone and measures approximately 80 centimetres long. It has been tipped over, leaving only the inscription 'E. L.' visible. The stone was erected as part of a series to mark the boundary between the Farnley (Fawkes) and the Harewood (Lascelles) estates. It also serves as the parish boundary between Weeton and Stainburn. The stone is located approximately 80 metres north of the road, along a former hedge line.
