Description
The former orangery, built in the late 19th century for Major Sheldon Cradock, is located approximately eight metres north-east of Hartforth Hall. It is constructed of rendered rubble and ashlar sandstone. The rear wall features rendered rubble with a semicircular recess in the center. In front, there is a 9-bay Tuscan colonnade that supports an entablature and includes a central entrance. Behind the columns, vertical iron posts indicate where a glass roof once stood. To the left, there is an ashlar screen wall with a doorway that has an architrave and a tripartite keystone, along with a recessed panel to its right and a balustraded parapet.
