Description
Low Lodge is a lodge built in the late 18th century for the Dundas family of Aske Hall, likely designed by John Carr of York. It is constructed from ashlar sandstone and features a Westmorland slate roof. The building is single storey and has three bays. It includes a plinth and a central distyle Roman Doric portico with a pediment, which has a plain frieze and a patera above each capital. The portico is recessed to form a porch with a four-panel door on the left and right sides. In the first and third bays, there are sash windows with glazing bars and projecting sills. The roof is hipped, and there is a corniced lateral stack at the centre of the ridge. A flat-roof rear extension is present but is not of special interest.
