Description

HESLERTON WHITE GATE SE 97 NW (west side, off) West Heslerton 5/20 Dovecote attached to north-west corner of farmbuildings approximately 20 metres north-west of Heslerton Hall - II Dovecote. Mid-late C18. Red and vitreous brick in random bond, with tooled sandstone band; red and blue pantile roof with sandstone ridge stones. Timber glover with lead cap. Square on plan. 1½-storey, 1-bay front. C19 board door in low segment-arched doorway on north side. Raised band above, continuing round entire building. Blocked roundel in brick surround on north and south sides. Glazed circular window with radiating bars on west side. Rectangular opening with 2 tiers of doveholes on east side. Raised, dentilled eaves course. Pyramidal roof with domed glover and wrought-iron weather-vane at summit. Farm buildings not of special interest.
