Description
This is a boundary stone located on the former hedge line, approximately 50 metres north of the road. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and is made of gritstone, standing about 60 centimetres high with a flat top. The north face of the stone has the inscription 'T. F.' while the south face reads 'E. L.'. This stone was erected to mark the boundary between the Farnley (Fawkes) and the Harewood (Lascelles) estates, and it also serves as the parish boundary between Weeton and Stainburn.
