Description
The Manor House and former Smithy is a late 18th-century building that has been converted into a house. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone and features a pantile roof. The structure is two storeys high and has three bays, presenting a symmetrical facade that is one and a half rooms deep, with a continuous outshut at the rear. Access is via four steps leading to a 20th-century door set within a wrought-iron porch that has a gabled roof. The flanking windows are side-sliding sashes with three 8-pane lights, while the first floor has two-light, 12-pane side-sliding sashes. The building features incised lintels and wooden sills, along with ashlar coping and shaped kneelers. There are brick stacks at each end. The interior has not been inspected. Attached to the right is a lean-to that was formerly a cattle shed, and to the left is a single-storey brick building that served as a smithy. The name 'Manor House' was assigned to the building around 1950 and does not reflect its original status.
