Description

The Old Gaol and Carriage House, now a garage and at the rear part of a dwelling house, dates to the mid- to late 18th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and has a graduated stone slate roof. It is a single-storey structure. A double board carriage door, round-arched with a keystone and impost band, is centrally positioned. To the right is a board door with a similar impost band and lintel, above which is a small barred window. The roof is hipped to the right. The right return side features an Old Gaol door, nail-studded and with an iron locking-bar, along with rebates and hinges for an outer door.
