Description
Southfield is a house located in Appleton Roebuck, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with likely earlier origins. The building is constructed of pinkish-orange brick, covered with colour-washed roughcast, and features a pantile roof. It has two storeys and three bays, with an additional range at the rear. The central entrance consists of a six-fielded-panel door with an overlight that has vertical glazing bars, all set within a recessed surround. The house has 16-pane sash windows throughout, with all openings beneath flat arches made of rubbed brick. The central first-floor window has been filled in. A dentil eaves band and brick coping are present, along with end stacks. At the time of the last survey, the property was disused and in a somewhat dilapidated condition.
