Description
The Market Hall, located on the south side of Market Place, is an 18th century style building that was completed in 1854. It is constructed of coursed stone and features a three-bay front with pediments and a cornice adorned with small dentils. The building has rusticated quoins and piers that support a blind arcade with moulded arches, each featuring triple keystones. On either side of the arcade are round-headed windows with hung sashes and glazing bars set in stone surrounds. The central entrance consists of double doors topped by a large glazed fanlight, also framed by a stone surround with a triple keystone. The roof is made of Welsh slate, and the interior includes grooved iron columns. The Market Hall is part of a group of listed buildings in Market Place.
