Description

The malthouse in the grounds of Shepherd's Hill is a possibly 18th-century rectangular building made of white-washed stone with a stone roof and a square louvred ventilator. The exterior is plain, but the interior is noteworthy, featuring a well, a large stone trough, a furnace with iron doors, a pierced drying floor above, and distinctive intersecting brick arches that create the vaulting of the ground floor. Above, there is a king post roof.
