Description
The Crown and Cushion Hotel is a building that likely dates back earlier than its mid-18th century alterations. It features roughcast over stone, an old slate roof with stone chimneys, and long and short quoins. The ground floor has two plain windows without glazing bars and a small shop front. Above, there are four twelve-paned sash windows. No. 2, known as the Crown and Cushion, is likely a 17th-century lobby entry house with a square-headed doorway that has a heavily moulded architrave, probably from the early 18th century. At the rear, there is a three-storey wing facing Low Wiend, which has three sash windows on each floor set in stone architraves. A rainwater head on the building is dated 1764.
