Description

The Clock House comprises an early 18th-century building in Appleby in Westmorland. It is constructed of red sandstone rubble with a slate roof, and brick chimneys. The building has stone copings and kneelers. A segmental arched carriageway is located on the left-hand side, providing access to the yard of the Crown and Cushion. A moulded doorway, dating to around 1700, is present, along with two sash windows and a more modern window on the ground floor. Above, there are four 12-paned sash windows. A clock face has been inserted into the upper wall.
