Description
The Coach House, located approximately 10 meters north-west of Ashton House, is a Grade II listed building. It is constructed from limestone rubble with roughly-cut limestone quoins and features a graduated greenslate roof with a stone ridge. The structure is symmetrical with five bays arranged in a 2:1:2 pattern, and the central bay is gabled.
The coach house has a central carriage entrance with board doors. To the right, there are 25-paned windows with louvres above, while to the left, there are 20th-century windows replacing the louvres. Above, there are three board doors, and all openings are topped with stone lintels. The gable features a central owl hole, projecting eaves, and pine cone finials on the end gables. A weather-vane is positioned at the apex of the central gable. The building is included in the listing mainly for its group value.
