Description

The retaining wall and footbridge in front of Catterlen Hall date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from red sandstone rubble. The high wall is built on a slope to support the garden terrace in front of Catterlen Hall. It features a central pointed-arched footbridge with solid parapets, which provides access from the hall to the farm buildings across the road. This structure is listed for its group value with Catterlen Hall.
