Description
No. 11 Boroughgate is a building dating from the late 16th to early 17th century, constructed of ashlar stone with a slate roof that is hidden behind a later facade. The building features three storeys, with water spouts and finials at the ends of the stone copings. The top storey has two gables that were added in the late 17th century. The entrance includes a moulded doorway with a stilted segmental head supported by imposts, decorated with interlacing enrichment in low relief. The centre door is flanked by two small shop windows from the 20th century, and there are two new windows in the middle storey. Above the lower storey windows, there is a long moulded drip-course with carved terminals. The top storey has two graded three-light windows with round-headed lights and moulded dripstones that are stepped up over the centre. The two gables have moulded copings and finials.
