Description
Abbots Bank is an 1820 building located on Friargate, constructed with scored stucco over stone, featuring quoins, a cornice, a parapet, and a slate roof. It is two storeys high and includes a stone band. The main entrance consists of a six-panelled door with a semi-circular fanlight that has glazing bars, all set beneath a Tuscan portico supported by two stone columns, with a frieze and cornice above. On the ground floor, there are two 16-paned sash windows, and three more on the upper floor, all within plain stone architraves. The left side of the building has a round-headed attic window. At the rear, there are four 16-paned sash windows and a round-headed staircase window in the center.
