Description

Rose Tree Cottage is a building from the 18th century or early 19th century, standing two storeys tall with a rubble exterior and a slate roof. It features two chimneys and quoins. The windows have plain reveals and box sashes with sixteen panes. The doorway is chamfered and made of large stones, leading to a door with six raised and fielded panels. The back and sides of the cottage have been altered recently. Inside, there is a large chimneypiece with a massive stone lintel. Historically, this building was formerly an inn, known at different times as the Fencing Boys, the Cross Keys, and the Rose Tree.
