Description
Numbers 10 and 12 are a pair of early 19th-century shops located on the north side of Market Street. The buildings are three storeys high and constructed from coursed rubble, topped with a slate roof and featuring three chimneys. They have a stone plinth, a single string course, and quoins on the left-hand side. There are four windows with thin stone surrounds and flush lintels; the windows at No 10 are sashed, while those at No 12 are also sashed but include all glazing bars. The shops have a double shopfront with flanking Doric pilasters and a continuous cornice, although the glazing has been altered. The door to No 12 features two round-headed glazed panels. At the rear, there are two tall staircase windows. Outbuildings that match the style of the main buildings are located adjacent to the churchyard.
