Description
The Milbourne Arms Public House is a public house built between 1852 and 1853, with 20th-century alterations. It features painted stucco walls over brick, set on a chamfered plinth, with stucco V-jointed quoins and a stone-bracketed metal gutter. The hipped roof is covered with local slate, and there are original rendered and brick ridge chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, with a two-bay left return facing Junction Street.
The central entry consists of a panelled door with an overlight, framed by a pilastered surround. On either side, there are shop-type casement windows in pilastered stucco surrounds, complete with moulded sills and bracketed cornices. Above, there are sash windows in painted stucco surrounds, featuring scrolled aprons. The left return has a panelled door with an overlight in a pilastered surround, while a similar doorway on the right has been converted into a sash window. The ground floor shop-type window mirrors the facade, and the upper windows are consistent with those on the front. Between the windows, there is a stucco panel displaying the name of the pub. The interior has not been inspected. A photograph from 1900 shows the building before the stucco was applied.
