Description
Cauder House is a house located in Calderbridge, with a datestone indicating it was built in 1727, although it has undergone later alterations. The building is constructed of roughcast stone and features a slate roof, with concrete tiles on the rear. It is two storeys high and has three bays.
On the ground floor, there are two sashed windows with 20 panes and horns, each accompanied by an 8-pane sashed window to the left. The first floor has a central 20-pane sashed window, flanked by paired 8-pane sashed windows. The central entrance is notable for its chamfered reveals and a lintel that includes an escutcheon with the date, along with a label mould above. Above the entrance, there is a medieval quatrefoil, which is likely taken from Calder Abbey.
