Description
3, 5 and 7 Earl Street are two houses, originally divided into three, that are now used as one office. They were built in the 1830s or 1840s. The exterior features red sandstone ashlar, which is painted on the ground floor, set on a chamfered plinth, with a sill band and eaves cornice. The roof is made of graduated greenslate and has gable and ridge brick chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high, with two bays each, and is of one build. The entrance has paired off-centre panelled doors with a patterned overlight, all within pilastered surrounds topped with a modillioned entablature and cornice. The right panelled door is set in a chamfered stone surround. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are in plain stone reveals, but on the ground floor, they have been replaced by 20th-century bowed casements within the existing reveals. The interior has not been inspected.
