Description
Westlands Farmhouse and the adjoining barn date back to 1693, with alterations made in 1743, as indicated by the inscriptions over the front entrance. The farmhouse features painted stucco walls with angle pilasters and an eaves cornice, topped by a graduated greenslate roof with coped gables and kneelers, along with brick chimney stacks. The barn is constructed of painted stone rubble, with some areas stuccoed.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and consists of five bays, with the lower barn located to the right. A 20th-century door is set in a painted architrave beneath a segmental pediment. The farmhouse has sash windows framed in painted stone architraves. The barn includes windows in the bay closest to the house: a ground floor sash window with glazing bars and a first-floor casement window, both in painted stone surrounds. Additionally, there is a large projecting cart entrance and a lean-to shippon extension on the barn. The shippon to the left of the farmhouse is not of interest.
