Description

Clare Cottage is a 17th-century building that has been altered in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with red brick courses below the eaves on the eastern section of the front. The roof is covered with Welsh slate and features two gabled dormers on the eastern side. The cottage is two storeys high with attics and has two windows with glazing bars beneath wooden lintels; the first-floor windows are casements, while the ground floor has sash windows. There is a two-storey west wing that includes two flush casement windows and ground floor windows with cambered relieving arches. Clare Cottage is included for its group value, as it is part of a group with Nos 1, 2, 3, and 4 High Street.
