Description

Briary Lodge is a late 18th-century house, likely with earlier origins. It is constructed of red brick with flared header details, covered by a plain-tile roof and has brick end stacks. The house is two storeys high and has a three-window front. The original layout comprised two main rooms with an outshut. A central panelled front door, originally with a fanlight and a semi-circular hood supported by brackets, is now incorporated into a gabled porch with supporting posts. There are two-light casement windows with segmental arches on both the ground and first floors. Cogged brickwork details the eaves. The rear wall of the outshut is built of coursed limestone rubble and features a plank back door with a wooden lintel and similar casement windows. The interior remains uninspected.
