Description

Mauding Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, located on Chapel Lane in Farthinghoe. The house is constructed from uncoursed limestone rubble with an artificial stone slate roof and brick stacks. It is two storeys and an attic, with two bays. The central doorway features a wooden lintel and plank door, flanked by windows with simple stone surrounds and 20th-century casements. Similar windows are present on the first floor. Dormers with hipped roofs contain two-light iron casements with leaded lights. An 18th-century extension adjoins the right side, also two storeys and two bays.
