Description
32 The Green is a building from the first half of the 18th century that has been altered. It is constructed of red brick with painted stone chamfered quoins and features a first-floor band. The roof is Welsh slate and has flanking chimneys, a stone cornice, and three gabled dormers. The building has two storeys and attics, with three large sash windows in painted surrounds, stone cills, and panelled pilasters that support entablatures. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door and a three-pane rectangular fanlight, all framed by an architrave surround and topped with a cornice hood on large consoles. Inside, there is an oak close string staircase with moulded caps on heavy newel posts, which are carved with half balusters, and a heavy moulded handrail with turned balusters. The panelled ground floor room includes an altered fireplace flanked by recessed cupboards with shaped shelves and arched heads.
